After back to back victories against Busnau and SV Gablenberg, the second team were hoping to continue their good form with a win in the sun against Steinenbronn. It only took ABV 2minutes to create the first chance. Some good work on the left flank from Nico Reuer who skipped passedtwo men, gave top scorer, Dane Askew, a golden opportunity to open the scoring but he could only smash his header off the bar. This would set the tone for the day. Steinenbronn eventually came into the game and almost took the lead with two opportunities. First was a spectacular acrobatic effort which grazed the bar. This was followed by some good build up play by Steinenbronn and only for a last ditch block by Florian Rötzer, ABV would have fallen behind. Realising they were in a game, ABV upped the tempo and started to create more chances. Askew, Rami Ounaies and Mirko Reickmannall testing the Steinenbronn keeper but unable to open the scoring. Reickmann did have the ball in the net before half time but unfortunately he was adjudged offside. The sides went in at the break 0-0.After back to back victories against Busnau and SV Gablenberg, the second team were hoping to continue their good form with a win in the sun against Steinenbronn. Both teams came out for the second half knowing the game was there for the taking. Steinenbronn continued their good form from the first half and had many chances to go ahead. A long ball over the top beat the defence but not the stand-in keeper, Jan Göger, who was determined not to concede. Steinenbronn continued to dominate the second half and rattled the bar twice in quick succession. Whilst ABV also had chances to break the deadlock, it finished all square at 0-0. Heavy touches and misplaced passes were constant throughout as ABV failed to repeat the form that has seen them stay at the top end of the table for most of the season. While it was two points dropped in the title race, it will feel like a point earned after a poor showing in the second half.
